The two shot-hitting sequences in the dance are done in a single take, and the shots appear to be near-perfect. Indeed, it is said that when the balls were picked up afterwards, they were in two tight groups, with very little dispersion.
Astaire was a keen golfer, who regularly shot in the low 80s, sometimes the high 70s. He had a very fluid, rhythmical swing, as one would expect.
