The pair had finished regulation play on 6-under-par 278, five shots ahead of third-placed Dudley Hart.
The event was the third and final WGC Championship of the series’ inaugural year, of which Woods won two. In the years that followed, Woods picked up 16 more titles, the last one coming in the 2013 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
