72 Hour Late Score Entry Penalty
With effect from the 1st January 2011 the 72 hour late score entry penalty will once again be implemented. This means that any score not entered on the system within 72 hours of completion of the round will incur a penalty score. No penalty scores will apply to foreign rounds entered on the system.
The penalty score will be the lower of:
a) 6 less than Par of the course plus the players handicap; or
b) The lowest of the last 20 valid differentials, added to the standard rating of the course played to achieve a deemed ‘Adjusted Gross’ score.
Clubs are to please ensure that they make their members aware of this reintroduction.
Disciplinary Action for Not Entering a Score
The failure by a member to enter a score on the handicap system, is cheating. We would ask those clubs that do not open rounds for their members, to please run random checks on score entry on the system, and to take the same disciplinary action as they would if a member was found to be entering the wrong scores. We further encourage all clubs that do not have service providers, to make use of our free round opening software.
24 Month Score Validity
Based on the response and feedback we have received from the clubs, the SAGA have decided to extend the score validity period from 24 to 60 months. Thus, a player will have a valid handicap displayed as long as they have 5 scores entered on the system in the previous 60 months
