All players over the age of 18 automatically qualified for the competition and entries were earned simply by playing golf and entering one’s score.
This month we share statistics on the average handicap of all players on the system and compare them to earlier in the year. We have also included a Q&A section to cover frequently asked questions.
This month we look at how the number of rounds entered on the system during the first six months of 2012 has increased significantly compared to the first six months of 2011, and respond to issues raised by golfers.
This month we share a few interesting statistics that we have extracted from the handicap system as well as the results from our club survey of who is winning the majority of club Better Ball competitions. And finally we would like to hear from you, the golfer, regarding what you would like to see on our website.
This month we celebrate the launch of the SAGA Golf iPhone App which has been a huge success and provide scoring stats to confirm that recent SAGA changes have smoothed out the performances of the different handicap divisions … and remind all golfers they can now sign up to receive handicap changes via SMS.
This month we clear-up any confusion over the number of 2 or 3 overs permitted per round for handicap purposes, explain the penalty for entering N/R scores online, announce our new handicap SMS service and our soon to be launched mobile phone live scoring system, and we also suggest ways to prevent “exceptional” scoring in winning weekly competitions.
