The Castle Lite Player Challenge came to an end on 31 October and has been very keenly contested over the past two months, as club golfers competed to win a trip for themselves, and a partner of their choice, to the finals at the Legend Golf & Safari Resort from 7 to 9 December 2012.
It has been an immensely successful competition and it is with great excitement that HNA and Castle Lite announce the regional winners – a massive congratulations goes to:
Colin Haytread (Western Cape) – Westlake GC, 67 points.
Johan de Lange (Northern Region) – Seasons Eco Golf Estate, 65 points.
FI Geldenhuys (Central Region) – Tempe Golf Club, 64 points.
Ukesh Reewith (Egoli Region) – CMR Golf Club, 63 points.
Johan van Huysteen (Eastern Region) – Adelaide Golf Club, 59 points.
We wish these 5 gentleman all the best as they battle it out for the Castle Lite Player Challenge trophy and the associated bragging rights.
The Castle Lite Challenge format has proven to be a new and exciting way to compete against fellow club handicapped golfers. We have had terrific feedback from the general golfing community, so are very excited to announce the next leg of the Castle Lite Challenge: The Castle Lite Club Challenge. Watch this space for further details.
Note: Subsequent to our recent article on the leader of the Castle Lite Challenge, it was established by his club that as a new golfer, he was not fully aware of the rules of golf and the factors around entering a score on the handicap system. As a result his club decided to withdraw him from the competition. We wish him well in his efforts to improve his golf and reduce his handicap.
