Scott Piercy was born on this day in 1978. He is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour.
Piercy turned professional in 2001, and played on various mini-tours before becoming a Nationwide Tour member in 2008. After a poor start to the season, he won two tournaments in August of that year, and finished ninth on the money list to earn PGA Tour playing rights for 2009.
Piercy made an encouraging start to his PGA Tour career, recording five top 20 finishes in his first six starts; and this run of form elevated Piercy into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking in March 2009. He finished the season ranked 90th on the money list to retain his tour card.
In 2011, Piercy won the Reno-Tahoe Open for his first PGA Tour title. His second PGA Tour title came in the 2012 RBC Canadian Open.
Piercy is a rarity on the PGA Tour for his use of the baseball grip.
